The missus found this film hilarious. I was pissed and can't remember what I thought of it.

It's Over
Christmas that is.
I finished work at around 2pm on Christmas eve. I popped over to my mates house to exchange presents. And drink beer, obviously.
I made sure I arrived home by 7pm so I could see Matt before he went to bed. Matt had been suffering from a nasty cold, but he seemed to be perking up at the right time.
At 5:30 on Christmas morning, the missus tried to be clever. She went and got Matt and put him bed with us, thinking we'd all wake up together later in the morning. A nice idea, but she didn't take into account that moving him would wake him up. And he stayed up! So, up got the missus and Matt, while I stayed in bed till 7:30. Nice!
We opened our presents together, my pile seems to be getting smaller every year.
Matt wasn't really interested. Once he'd opened his first present he sat there ans played with that. The missus and myself opened the rest, saying things like; "Wow! Look at this Matthew!" But he continued to ignore us and play with his new cars instead!
We got dressed and headed over to my mum's for breakfast. Bacon sandwiches all round! I don't mean that the sandwiches were round, I mean everyone had one.
We dropped mum at her friends house and came home.
The missus had said she was doing christmas dinner for once, so I put Matt down for his nap and chilled until my brother, his missus and my dad turned up. We were supposed to be joined by my mother and father-in-law. Unfortunately my father-in-law was unwell and they didn't make it.
The food and drink flowed into the evning and our guests departed around 7:30 pm. The rest of the night was spent chilling in front of the T.V.
On Boxing day, we headed to London to see the in-laws who'd not made it for dinner. Again, more drink and food flowed.
The missus was at work all day on Sunday so it was just me and Matt. I've never had such a good day with him! He was in top form the whole day. I didn't want to put him to bed!
We relaxed all day Monday. We dropped Matt at my mum's around 5:30pm and came home. The missus caught up with some work and ran around getting shot on Call of Duty 2.
I was back at work yesterday for the first of 5 late shifts. I've got a weeks annual leave (Again? I know!) from Sunday.
So, like I said; Christmas = OFFICIALLY OVER!

2 Weeks Annual Leave
Last week we were on holiday near Clacton-On-Sea. I was pleased to find that we were about half an hour away. We stopped there for lunch before checking in and it was a cross between god's waiting room and chav city.
The weather was fantastic. It was slightly overcast on Thursday but it remained t-shirt weather.
We took Matty swimming in the mornings, which he loved. He also enjoyed the kids club.
We made a trip to Walton-On-The-Naze and had lunch in a traditional Pie and Mash shop. I wasn't suprised to see Matty enjoying it, after all, I grew up on the stuff. Like father, like son and all that.
All in all, it was a really nice short break.
This week I've been relaxing and enjoying the company of The Missus and Matty.
Matty's really developing quickly these days. He points at what he wants now, which has reduced the amount of guess work. He's also started trying to talk but it's all jibberish, a bit like this bloke!
It was also my 32nd birthday last weekend. On Saturday I went for a meal with family but it was difficult to enjoy as I'd had a terminal headache since 6am that morning. On Sunday I went on the piss with my dad.
The only negative point was that I had to do an early shift at work on Thursday, as I owed them a day's leave.
Back to work on Tuesday. Late shifts. Yay.

32 Years Old
Today marks the 32nd anniversary of my birth.
I'd like to think that the world is a better place with me on it, but I guess that depends on who you ask!
I'm hoping today goes better than yesterday, when I spent the entire day with a blazing headache. It was so bad, I only managed 4 pints all day!

The Curious Incident Of The Bin In The Night.
Yesterday morning, when I rolled out of bed at 11:15, I was greeted with "Why did you put the recycling bin in the bathroom?" from the missus.
"You what now? Why the fuck would I put the recyc' bin in the bog?" Came my reply.
I'll spare you the rest of the conversation, but suffice to say we both deny responsibilty. Her argument that it was full of my empty beer cans, doesn't wash with me though!
You may recall this incident from a while back.
You may also remember other instances of oddness such as this and this.
I think I'd better arrange an exorcism!

The Weekend Ends Here
This weekend has been fantastic!
It started on Friday, with me looking after Matty by myself for the second time. After my last attempt, I wasn't confident. I have to admit that I was a complete arsehole all day on Thursday and I apologise to the missus for this.
Anyway, Friday turned out to be a fantastic day. Matt was as good as gold and we spent the whole day playing together. I can't wait for the next Matty and me time!
On saturday the in-laws came over. They've not been up for a while so it was really nice to see them both. They were joined by the missus's sister and her fella. We decided to have a bbq when the F.A Cup Final finished, it didn't go well with our neighbour. You see, because she has a fancy alarm system, she seems to think that this means we can't bbq in the courtyard opposite hers. Rather than do the easy thing and turn her alarm off the moment she noticed our bbq, she waited until the smoke built up and then went banging on the fence and shouting. Wrong thing to do! My father-in-law took offence to this and even more so when she stuck her head over the fence to complain. To cut a long story short, she was effectively told to fuck off by my father-in-law.
She's gonna be really upset when I fence our front lawn off with 6ft fencing all the way around. You see, she believes fences ruin the look of the area. Tough!
On sunday I met my dad for a beer. When I say "a beer" I mean lots of beer. I came home bladdered and the missus was quite rightly un-impressed. She's forgiven me though, as it's rare for me to have a beer with dad and even rarer for me to get in that state.
Today we went shopping in Milton Keynes. Matty was in top form and flirting with all the women. We can't go anywhere without women cooing over him and he laps it up. We've really noticed that he's developing so quickly these days.
The missus and me are both working tomorrow, so we dropped him off at my mum's after 4pm. The place feels empty without him. Won't see his cheeky smile till wednesday morning.
Can't wait!
Tomorrow I'll be starting my beloved late shifts. Forunately, I've only got 5 to do as I start 3 weeks leave on Sunday.

A Grand Weekend
This was the kind of weekend that makes me love working for London Underground.
On Friday, we looked after my niece Emily. Although the weather wasn't great, we took her over to Gullivers Land in Milton Keynes. She started a bit reluctant, but soon went on the rides with me. Fortunately, the rain held off all day.
On Saturday we went over to my brother's to watch the football. Although the result didn't go our way, there's not a lot better in life than a few beers and footy with your brother is there?
On Sunday we went to a cremation at 'Chelle and Gaz's. My understanding was that it was intended to be a barbeque. Later that day, my piss smelled of burnt chicken. Gaz claimed not to know how that could be.
Later that evening, Gary and Caroline popped over for a few drinks. Those few drinks were followed by a few more drinks and then a couple more. They left just before midnight, I dunno how Gary got up for work at 4am today!
Today, the weather was simply beautiful so we decided to go out.
We went over to Woburn. We had a pleasant walk around the town itself, followed by a drive near the Abbey and Safari Park, air-con on all the time. Matty was amazed to look out of the car window and see the real life deer just lazing around in the fields. Mind you, the missus was very impressed with the size of the stag's antlers. It made me feel somewhat inadequate!
So that's that then, another long-weekend has passed and I'm now faced with seven late shifts on the spin.
Suddenly my love of working for London Underground has faded again!

We All Follow The Arsenal
Last night I took the missus to the Arsenal match against Hull City.
We were gonna meet up with a good mate before the match, but he was held up by some dick at work. Fortunately, we managed to squeeze a pint in at half-time.
I agree with everything he has posted himself, so if you want to know more, I'll hand you over to my good mate Andy.

Utter shit! I really, really used to like Lee Evans, but lately I've been seeing him as a one trick pony. Even when I watch his classic stand up routines I don't see it as funny as it used to be.
Congratulations to the makers of this film! You have done the impossible and put me off westerns. Lets just hope it's not permanent.
Now, where's my copy of "Shane"?
110 minutes of my life that will never, ever be returned. This film, is a complete and utter cunt.
I have to confess that alcohol caused me to fall asleep towards the end of this film. But, I will say that I was really enjoying it until then.

Making An Arse Of Myself With
Now look. I can't sing. Not one note. But get a few 1664's in me and I'll duet with anyone.
So far I've sang; Shakespeare's Sister's "Stay" with Gareth, Blur's "Parklife" with the missus, Spandau Ballet's "True" with Michelle, Leo Sayer's "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" with my brother and The Police's "Don't Stand So Close To Me" with Danny. But, my favourite was when my good mate Darryn and me looked lovingly into each others eyes and sang Sonny and Cher's "I've Got You Babe".
Actually, this entry should probably come under the "More Shit Music" entries.

Sick Again
So, what have I been up to?
Well, fuck all to tell you the truth.
The only thing that's happened is that I managed to catch another cold on wednesday. I mean, for fucks sake! I only had one a couple of months ago! All joking about avian and man flu aside, this is a particulary nasty bug I've got at the moment and I haven't felt this run down for years. Mind you, I suspect that rolling in from the pub at 2 a.m on tuesday night didn't help!

Make Me Smile, Make Me Smile
Before the footy on tuseday night, we went to a bar (surprised?).
I went to the loo and was immediately fed up when I saw one of those "Toilet Attendants".
You know the ones, they hang around in toilets, turn on the taps for you, hand you a single sheet of economy kitchen towel and then offer to spray you with something from an aftershave bottle, which is probably yak's piss.
Then he's got the nerve to point at a stainless steel plate and repeat "Make me smile, make me smile."
These people are now second on my list of hatred after them optimistic charity street fucks.

My Rest Days
On Tuesday night I went to the Emirates stadium to see the Arsenal youth team wipe the floor with Wigan 3-0 in the Carling Cup.On Wednesday I had a hangover, a sore throat and fingers that smelled of chicken balti.
Wednesday was also my niece's 6th birthday so we went out for dinner with some family.

I Need Another Holiday Already !
Whilst I was glad for the change of scenery, I can't tell you how glad I am that this week of work is over.
Sometimes people exagerate and say they haven't stopped all week, but I can genuinely say that I haven't stopped all week!
Every day has been busy due to the new college / university term starting. Include some dodgy ticket machines, crap accounting facilities, broken printers, a shit repair engineer who leaves with things worse than when he started, colleagues forgetting to put sacks in the safe, a bloke called Warren, and you've got yourself a really bad week at work!
I make it beer o'clock, don't you?

Interesting Fact
Our beloved cat Peanut-Face got her name because I was drunk and shoving peanuts in my gob when we were deciding what to call her.
Although, why the missus agreed is unknown.
